Harpoon Social Club was born of a love for Japanese culture and the small, crowded ramen bars of Tokyo. Nights spent in izakayas, days spent wandering the back streets of Shibuya, Ebisu and Shimokitazawa, and countless bowls of noodles all knitted together to form a little dream. Why not bring a Ramen Bar to Bendigo?

With noodles at its core, and bao to die for, the rest of the seasonal menu is designed for sharing. There’s abundant vegan and gluten free options, with the emphasis on fun. There’s little nods to Korea and China and even Bangkok in the dishes, and you won’t be the first folk to be wowed by what comes out of that kitchen. Dedicated to bringing new flavours and dishes to Bendigo, you’re bound to try something new to you. The ultimate date night venue, leave the kids at home and get stuck into the gin list.

Harpoon is open for dinner Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 5pm. We offer an abridged version of our menu takeaway between 5pm and 6.30pm only, with the rest of the evening being dedicated to dining in.

We take reservations, though we prefer walkins. See the reservation policy below.

 

COVID POLICY:

It should come as no surprise that Harpoon is welcoming only fully vaccinated patrons to dine in. If you are under sixteen, or genuinely medically exempt from being vaccinated, you are also welcome to dine in. We will be checking ID and vaccination certificates. Please have this ready on your smart device or as a hard copy. Face mask protocol follows the current advice of the CHO.

We are vehemently against abuse of our staff or whinging/whining regarding this policy. You will be asked to leave immediately. Don’t be a d#*!.

 

A NOTE ON OUR MENU:

As mentioned above, we go above and beyond for vegans and coeliacs. Approximately 40% of our menu is accessible, without having to omit anything. 

We use A LOT of Japanese ingredients. Namely Soy and Sesame. If you have an allergy to either of these ingredients we kindly ask you to rethink your visit. 

 

RESERVATION POLICY:

Reservations are released one month in advance, and can only be made via our online booking system. These are limited, and go quick. You’re welcome to add yourselves to our waiting list in case of a cancellation, though better yet we strongly encourage you to just walk in. We keep all of our outside dining space and our inside bar space solely for the last-minute decision makers. We love it. Even if we don’t have something immediately we operate a waitlist and endeavour to get Harpoon into your bellies quick smart.

 

We are unable to accept reservations for groups larger than eight, and only take bookings through the online system for up to four. For groups larger, please enquire at harpoonbookings@gmail.com, and please be advised we ask a minimum spend ($60) per head for groups of more than four. 

 

We hold reserved tables for fifteen minutes, and then they are up for grabs. If you are running late, please contact us via email harpoonsocialclub@gmail.com. Same goes if you need to change anything and can’t manage on the booking system.

 

FOR THOSE WITH LITTLE ONES.

We do not have highchairs, nor do we have space for prams. Well behaved, noodle loving little tackers are welcome. We ask that you stick to takeaway if you think your little ones would disrupt our tiny venue. 

 

We are fully licensed and do not accept BYO.
